The last time I wrote about my knitting projects I was telling you all about my current Works-In-Progress and I was committed to finishing my Saroyan scarf early on in 2013. I took it out, checked where I was in the pattern and I was set to get to work on it. Unfortunately, I can’t find it now… I really don’t know what I did with it. This is awful… I know I just saw it. There’s been stuff I’ve been moving around in the living room so it is entirely possible that it ended up in a bag that got put away somewhere.

I’m participating in another round of the Color Swap on Ravelry so I picked out a project to make for my partner. As I was reviewing my partner’s questionnaire and other Ravelry posts I saw that she likes wearing cowls. I also happen to belong to the Ravelry group for knit designer Liz Abinante. It just so happened that it was time for The Great Cowl KAL 2013, Liz released one free cowl pattern, Wish I Was Weaving This Cowl, and for everyone who submitted a photo of their finished cowl they would get a second cowl pattern for free, Cove Cowl. Cove Cowl is available for $6 for anyone who didn’t make the first cowl in time.

Wish I Was Weaving This Cowl is a simple basket weave pattern and I knew it would knit up quickly and beautifully for my pattern. I went digging in my stash and I found some yarn in what I considered to be the perfect color for what my partner picked. I have enough yarn to make the infinity length Wish I Was Weaving This Cowl. It’s knitting up very quickly and I love the way it looks. I’ve been knitting pretty consistently on it when I have some pockets of time. Some of the people who knit this said they knit it in a couple of evenings. I don’t often have big chunks of time to knit so it’s taking me a bit longer. Last week I had my IV infusion and luckily my nurse placed my IV in a spot where I could knit while I was receiving my medication. I end up sitting in the chair for almost two hours so I got quite a bit of knitting done while I was there. I have to post a black and white picture so that I don’t spoil the surprise of what color I’m knitting.

Since I’ve been knitting during my down time I had to put my latest book down, it’s a book I borrowed from the library so I need to get back to it soon. I’m reading a memoir, definitely not as fast a read as a chick lit novel but interesting nonetheless.

As soon as I’m done with this swap package I’m going to go through everything and find my Saroyan scarf, I’m starting to wonder if I didn’t accidentally lose it. I really hope not, I was using some of my Clover Interchangeable needles and I’ll be out both the tips and the cable. As far as I know Clover isn’t selling individual parts of the set. I better do a search online and find out. What will happen if I ever break one of the tips?

What crafty projects are you working on? I’d love to get more inspiration.

I’m linking up with Tami’s Amis for WIP Wednesday and with Ginny for Yarn Along.
